Scientist

Carrie graduated with honors and a Bachelor of Science in Earth & Planetary Sciences from the University of New Mexico, where she completed an undergraduate thesis studying Martian Meteorites. She also earned a Master of Science in Earth & Planetary Geology from Arizona State University. Her graduate thesis considered the significance of the high-pressure mineral phase of Olivine called Ringwoodite, and what its presence meant about the size and speed of orbiting (and colliding) extra-terrestrial bodies in space. Carrie was a proud TA supporting both Mineralogy and Petrology at ASU. In addition, she spent two years working for the United States Geological Survey in Albuquerque, NM, studying groundwater contamination in White Sands, New Mexico.

Guide

While the cosmos amazed her, Carrie's innate intelligence was creative and relational, rather than STEM-oriented. In the early 2000s, she made a career change into HR to better align her talents with organizations' needs. She was passionate about aligning the right people with the right skills at the right time to execute a company's mission. The parallels from her science background in data-based decision-making and systems thinking made her stand out, and she rose quickly in her HR career, reaching the Head of HR position while serving New York City's Economic Development Agency. She then found her lane as an Executive Coach and Leadership Trainer. Concurrent to her pursuits as a coach, Carrie became a Reiki Master and certified as an Energy Leadership Master Practitioner.

Creative/Maker/Artist

From as early as she can recall, Carrie loved to design and make beautiful things. She has explored just about every form of creative expression, including drawing, painting, paper making, jewelry making, stained glass, model making, interior design, furniture restoration and woodworking, gardening, piano, choir, theater, acting, stand up comedy, dance, poetry, screenwriting, graphic design, and any craft you can think of - she's done it all. Time and time again, Carrie kept coming back to watercolors as one of her favorite artistic forms. Through her creative journey, Carrie waited for something to "click." Then, in October of 2025, she drew a mineral and added a pair of wings to it, writing, "Mineral Spirit" in the margins. The rest is history.

Carrie loves to travel, learn, read, hike, dance, and has been a dedicated yogi for over twenty years. Additionally, Carrie has a daily - (am and pm) medication practice she credits to restoring her inner equanimity, which is required being the dog-mom to a spicy Chihuahua.

Just like you, Carrie has many parts of her identity. Some aspects of her personality were inborn, and others evolved over the course of her life. Carrie is, at her core, a creative. While she studied earth & planetary sciences in her master's program, her calling was to guide others. Always a deeply spiritual person, Carrie became a Reiki Master and certified professional coach.
